Valorant Mobile Beta, Maps, Controls, and Features Revealed
Introduction
Valorant is making its way to mobile, and the result is a carefully adapted tactical FPS experience. Developed by Riot Games, the game retains its 5v5, round based structure inspired by Counter-Strike.
Players select agents with unique abilities, and therefore, success depends on both precision shooting and strategic skill usage. As a result, the mobile version still delivers the depth that defines the original game.
Release Timeline
The mobile version launched in China in April 2025, with early access distributed through local app stores. Shortly after, a public beta is expected on June 12, 2025.
However, a global release date has not yet been confirmed. For now, testing will continue to expand gradually into additional regions.
Mobile Exclusive Features
Unlike a simple port, this version introduces several new systems. For instance, a built in replay feature allows players to review matches from different angles.
In addition, a spectator mode supports tournament viewing, while the interface has been redesigned specifically for smaller screens. Players can also track detailed stats such as KDA and combat score without relying on external tools.
Furthermore, social features play a bigger role here. A global chat system, clip sharing, and in app team recruitment make the experience feel more connected and community driven.
Progression and Free Rewards
The progression system is designed to be accessible. For example, daily missions provide rewards such as items and skins without requiring purchases.
Moreover, ranked play offers additional cosmetics. Some of these rewards are exclusive to the mobile version, which encourages consistent engagement over time.
Controls and HUD Optimization
Touch controls have been carefully adapted for FPS gameplay. Typically, movement and aiming rely on virtual joysticks, while shooting and abilities are mapped to on screen buttons.
At the same time, players can fully customize their layout. Optional features like gyroscope aiming, auto fire, and aim assist also help improve accessibility.
Performance and Visual Quality
From a technical perspective, performance is well optimized across a wide range of devices. Even mid range phones can run the game smoothly.
Meanwhile, visual effects such as smoke and flashes are adjusted for clarity and efficiency. Character models remain detailed, and map design emphasizes visibility during combat.
Looking ahead, there are discussions about integrating Unreal Engine 5, which could further enhance lighting and overall performance.
Agents and Maps
At launch, players can choose from 16 agents, including fan favorites like Sage, Jett, and Brimstone. Importantly, each character retains their full set of abilities.
The map pool includes six well known locations from the PC version, such as Ascent, Haven, Bind, Split, Fracture, and Breeze.
In addition, two new maps have been created specifically for mobile, offering fresh environments and strategies.
System Requirements
On Android, devices need at least a Snapdragon 450 or equivalent processor, along with 3 GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage. Android 5.0 or higher is required.
For iOS users, the game supports iPhone 6S and newer devices, with iOS 12 as the minimum version.
Esports and Community
The competitive scene is already beginning to form. China will host the first creator tournament from June 23 to July 27, 2025, with a prize pool of 90,000 USD.
Although participation is limited to invited creators, the format closely follows official competitive rules. As a result, this event could serve as a foundation for future global competitions.
Final Thoughts
This mobile adaptation stands on its own rather than simply copying the PC version. With exclusive features, tailored controls, and strong technical performance, it offers a complete experience for handheld play.
If ongoing updates continue at this pace, the game could become a major force in mobile esports in the near future.
