Car Rental Management Platform

Running a large rental fleet by hand meant prices set by feel, cars nobody could locate, invoices in spreadsheets and no proper check on who was taking the keys.

Golden Sea built one platform for the whole operation. Each of the 700 cars carries an IoT GPS device, so the dashboard shows where it is, whether it is rented, when it is due for service and where it has been. Dispatchers assign cars to bookings with suggestions based on what is actually available.

Prices adjust to three things: demand for that class of car, the pickup point (city centre, airport or suburbs) and the vehicle type and age. Busy periods and busy locations get higher suggested rates, the same idea as surge pricing in ride-hailing, applied to daily and weekly rentals.

New customers upload their driving licence and ID in the React Native app, and only verified customers can complete a booking. A fraud check flags patterns such as several bookings from new accounts, billing and pickup addresses that do not match, or unusual payments, and staff review them before handing over a car. The platform also manages the 400 drivers and produces about 500 invoices a month.
