Moonkits — On-Chain Creator Marketplace

Digital creators selling templates, UI kits, and design assets through traditional platforms face a fundamental problem: the platform owns the distribution. Creators pay 30-50% commissions, have no direct relationship with buyers, and earn nothing from secondary sales when buyers resell or redistribute their work.

Moonkits solves this by tokenizing digital products as NFTs on Solana. When a creator lists a UI kit or coded template on Moonkits, each license is minted as a Solana NFT. The buyer receives the NFT as proof of purchase and ownership; the creator receives payment directly, with no platform commission beyond a minimal network fee.

Tokenization enables secondary market trading: if a buyer later wants to resell their license, they can — and the original creator receives a royalty on every secondary sale, configured at the time of minting. This creates compounding revenue for popular assets: a template that sells 500 times directly might see another 200 secondary transactions over time, each generating creator income.

The marketplace is built in Rust smart contracts on Solana, selected for its 400ms block finality and sub-cent transaction costs — critical for a marketplace where individual asset prices start at $0.10. Solana's throughput handles catalog-scale listing and purchasing without congestion. The React JS frontend provides a Web2-familiar browsing experience — category filtering, previews, live demos — with Web3 checkout handled transparently in the background.
